Tim Sullivan, Rich Maselli and Rachel Krause were presenters at the International Claims Association's 2007 conference, held September 29 through October 2, 2007, in Kissimmee, Florida.

 

Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Maselli presented a seminar for attorneys and claims professionals on the Civil Remedy Notice Procedure in the State of Florida.  In Florida, the Civil Remedy Notice is intended to provide insurance companies with notice of allegedly improper conduct and an opportunity to cure that conduct.  Filing of a civil remedy notice is a prerequisite to bringing a statutory bad faith action against an insurance company.

 

Mr. Sullivan and Ms. Krause presented with Cynthia Maskol of Old Mutual Financial Network.  The seminar focused on various claims issues and causes of action unique to seniors, including vulnerable adult claims, suitability claims, and challenges as to competency.  The seminar also provided tips for claims professionals dealing with elder claimants.
